{Chic & Thrifted}

20 Oct

Glitter Girl

I shared this post with the girls at GGM last week::

There are two things I love about this season; cobalt blue & blazers!  I’m a big fan of throwing on a blazer with a tee shirt to take a look from comfy & casual to simply chic.  Since I am shopping on a budget, I stopped by the thrift store last weekend to see if there were any treasures waiting for me.  As I was scanning the racks, this cobalt number jumped out at me.  I pulled it off the rack, and saw that it was the perfect blazer and had the most adorable gold button!  I thought, “OH MY… classic & staple piece, I must have this!”  The best part…it was $3.50!  The blazer is made by Talbots & is made with great detail.

PS…I also found a genuine leather pencil skirt that weekend…another classic piece!  I have to make a length alteration on it, and then I will share that with you girls as well.

What are your favorite pieces this season?  Do you shop your local thrift stores?  What recent treasures have you found to add to your closet

{Madewell white tee, Target shorts, Thrifted blazer, Target heels, MK purse, Madewell scarf}

Have you girls seen this nail art trend?  Glitter your ring fingers.  At first I didn’t know what I thought because everyone was doing it, but I recently bought glitter for my fall decorations, and decided to wear it in my manicure to see how I liked it.  What do you think?  I am now in love with it!  It makes your mani so fun, and it’s so easy::

  1. You choose the nail that you’d like to glitter & skip it when your polishing your fingers.
  2. Once your finished your other nails, take clear polish and coat the nail you will glitter.
  3.  Over a plate, sprinkle glitter over the nail and tap off the extra.
  4. Allow it a good 15 mins to set, and then coat the top with another layer of clear polish.
  5.  WA-LA!  You now have a glitz nail!

I hope you girls are having a great week!! I don’t know what each of you are dealing with, but this verse really touched my heart this week;

Isaiah 40:29-31 “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grows tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

{GGM::He Loves Us}

Glitter GirlToday I want to share with you some exciting stuff that is going on over at GGM.  If you haven’t heard of Matt Chandler, John Piper or David Crowder before, I am so excited to introduce you to them today!  This video message is powerful, true and moving.  I pray you listen with an open heart & the Lord moves in you today.

a video describing and highlighting just how great the love of God is. When we truly see that He loves us right where we are it sparks a desire in us to worship. God lavishes his love and grace on us amidst our failure and brokenness.  He isn’t surprised when we fall, stumble, or mess up. He saw it the whole time and loved us the same.
