{A Gift that Counts}

17 Nov

world_helpWith Christmas just around the corner, lists are being made full of gifts, food, party decor, etc.  I want to challenge you to give a gift that counts!  Last year was the first year I got to give the gift of a chickens to a child & their family.  Through World Help, you can do the same!

A few years ago, I had the privilege of going to the Philippines with two of my girlfriends.  We went and worked with the children of Boracay Island doing feedings, medical clinics & of course, taught them how to play volleyball!  This was the moment that true poverty became very real to me.  It’s very easy to get sucked into the hustle & bustle of our society & lose site on how other countries actually live.  Children really do play in the city dump & brush their teeth in the dirty river.  We see it in books, on the news or in a movie, but to see it first hand, changes your perspective for life!

How can you help this year?  World Help has made it possible for us all to remember the true meaning of the holiday season…the gift of giving.

There’s an endless list of items you can give to these children: sponsorship, goats, pigs, seeds, medical fund, church planting fund, bicycles, brick maker, coats, school uniforms, immunizations, bedding & the list goes on.

Go check out the whole list of items in the World Help Gifts of Hope catalog.
